ScottWorld was founded by Scott Rose in 1992, one year before he graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Psychology. In addition to being a certified FileMaker developer & Mac expert, Scott Rose was one of the top professional speakers for Apple Computer at their events nationwide from 2000-2006, he was a contributing editor & national columnist for Mac|Life Magazine, and he also has a second career as a professional improviser, host, & comedian with a critically-acclaimed one-man comedy show called "Computer Geek: One Nerd's Search For His Soulmate".
But Scott is probably best known for playing the Apple Fanatic in his hit YouTube video series, "Shit Apple Fanatics Say". The 2-part video series has been seen by almost 3 million viewers worldwide, and has been talked about extensively in the technology news, including The Huffington Post, CNN Money, The Washington Post, Gizmodo, and many, many more sites.
More personal details about Scott on the Meet the Staff page, but for now, let's talk about how ScottWorld got started:
While attending UCLA, Scott used his psychology background to study how people interacted with their computers and their software programs.
Scott used this knowledge to design user-friendly programs for his classmates with FileMaker Pro 2.0, and he also provided training sessions for fellow students. Outside of the computer lab, Scott was seen as a regular speaker & performer on campus, which led to his current professional speaking expertise.
| In 1994, Scott started marketing his services outside of the UCLA campus by walking door-to-door down La Brea Avenue and handing out homemade brochures to the businesses of Los Angeles. The response was overwhelming, and Scott's company started to boom.
By 1996, ScottWorld had grown so much that Scott could no longer handle the business alone. He started hiring other experts to fill the demand, including consultants like Roy Dahlke.
In 2011, ScottWorld expanded to Austin, Texas, bringing the best FileMaker consultants to Austin, Texas. Now there are expert FileMaker developers in both Austin and Los Angeles that you can use for your business! But ScottWorld provides FileMaker consulting nationwide as well! So if your FileMaker consulting needs are located outside of the Austin or Los Angeles area, ScottWorld can still help you!
And today, ScottWorld has dozens of satisfied clients, hundreds of incredible success stories, and thousands of hours of unparalleled expertise.

Scott Rose is a Certified FileMaker Developer in every version of FileMaker Pro, up to and including version 11. This means that he is a true expert at many different versions of FileMaker.
