iMovie - This is not an iMovie class, but if time permis, we will do a brief 10-minute introduction to iMovie, Apple's program that makes it easy to make your own home movies.
Other Mac OS X Resources - We'll cover many of the resources that you'll want to have at your fingertips, once the class is over: Mac OS X books & magazines that are indispensable, Mac OS X software programs you won't want to live without, Mac OS X websites that you'll want to visit on a regular basis. These resources will enable you to become more proficient over time on your own.
Troubleshooting Mac OS X - Although this is not a troubleshooting class, if time permits, we will cover a brief overview of the basics of troubleshooting: force-quitting applications, how to handle startup problems, how to deal with a lost Mac OS X password, how to handle the wrong program opening a document, and how to find answers online quickly.
Teacher:
The class will be led by local Macintosh expert & Macintosh consultant Scott Rose. Scott Rose is also a top FileMaker programmer, and one of Apple Computer's professional speakers for their MacWorld Expo convention in San Francisco. Scott Rose regularly speaks at the Apple Stores in Los Angeles.
Computer Info:
You may bring your own laptop to the class if you'd like, but it is certainly not a requirement or even necessary. You will be watching Scott teach Mac OS X 10.4 on a projected screen in a conference room.

FileMaker Pro is the best-selling database program for both Mac and Windows, and there's a very good chance that you use it on a regular basis. Are you responsible for maintaining the FileMaker databases in your office? Or are you new to FileMaker Pro 7 and need to get comfortable with it right away? This beginning-level class will get you up-to-speed on the basics of creating your own FileMaker Pro databases, and set you on the path to discovering more about FileMaker Pro. This class will be task-based, meaning that we will take you through a database project from start-to-finish. The topics listed below will be covered in the context of an actual database project.

General FileMaker overview - Why you should use FileMaker in your business, learn how to work with the different modes in FileMaker, understanding FileMaker's screen objects, working with FileMaker's toolbar, opening & saving FileMaker databases, learn to understand FileMaker's terminology.
